G Machinery, Manitowoc’s distributor for Grove all-terrain cranes in Japan, continues to enhance its commitment to quality service. Most recently, potential service dealers and technicians participated in an intensive crane training program. Over three days, they boosted their skills and upgraded their product knowledge to ensure they offer the highest standards of service.
Seven potential service dealers from Japan completed an intensive crane training program earlier this year in Osaka. Expert trainers from Manitowoc’s regional headquarters in Singapore traveled to Japan to deliver the training.
The course focused on crane functions and diagnostics procedures to minimize downtime. It covered the full range of CCS-equipped Grove all-terrain cranes, with a particular focus on the GMK5150L-1J, a specially adapted version of the 150 t capacity GMK5150L-1 specifically for Japanese market requirements.
Participants particularly appreciated the detailed understanding of the CCS control system the training delivered as well as the insights into the advantages of Grove’s unique MEGATRAK® independent suspension system.
Lim Chin Meng, technical support manager for Grove, was one of the members of the Manitowoc team leading the training in Osaka. He emphasized the importance of training to ensure the correct level of local support can be provided to customers in Japan.

G Machinery took on the role of Manitowoc’s distributor for all-terrain cranes in 2021. The company now provides local support to customers, including ensuring the cranes conform to all local regulations.
